Disability Access Fund (DAF)

The Disability Access Fund (DAF) is money that can be given to childcare providers, to help them to better support children with SEND, with the aim of ensuring access to childcare for children with disabilities.

While you can find the details on the Local Offer, here’s a quick summary.

For your provider to be eligible, your child needs to:
-receive Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
-receive early education funding

You will need to let your setting know that you receive DLA for your child and give them a copy of your DLA award letter. The setting will then be able to apply.

For support with DLA or other benefits, Contact, the charity for families with disabled children, have a full page of information on various benefits, as well as a helpline. You can also find information about other financial support for children and young people with SEND from BCP Council

For non-SEND specific childcare funding, find further details on the Family Information Directory
