Dingley’s Promise, and a new Parent Carer Representative role

Dingley’s Promise was successful in securing funding from Comic Relief for a five-year project to help tackle the UK’s shortage of Early Years places for children with SEND. The project will run from July 2021 – June 2026, and BCP Early Help Team have signed up to this and will be promoting to their parents, preschools and nursery provisions for them to access the training.

The aim of the programme is to empower early years practitioners to deliver inclusive practices, by upskilling them through training and shared information and learning resources.  A new kite mark will be coming soon, for practitioners to achieve once they have completed the training.  This may be very helpful for parents looking for inclusive Early Years providers.

As such, they are looking for a new Parent Carer Representative for the Dingley’s Promise Project, to work alongside another Parent Carer representative who has already been appointed.

You can read more about the project here, and you can read the role profile here.  If you have questions, or to express an interest in the role, please contact Gemma Tappenden, gemma.tappenden@bcpcouncil.gov.uk
